Extensive Timber Range

Solid Wood Floors

We pride ourselves in our knowledge, understanding and experience in solid timber flooring. We can advise on and source, nearly any timber species suitable for flooring use, (we only supply timber harvested from environmentally sustainable managed forests). From there we follow a strict installation procedure, ensuring that your beautiful new timber floor will remain trouble free on your floor for years to come. We have our own skilled craftsmen to take care of everything from the floor preparation, moisture barrier and installation process, right through to the sanding and polyurethane application. We specialise in non toxic, low VOC waterborne polyurethanes that are both user friendly and easy on the environment. The Flooring Centre showroom has a dedicated area where you can view many popular species of timber showing different finishes including stains, urethanes and oils. When it comes to solid timber flooring, no one in Christchurch has a more extensive display, coupled with vast experience and knowledge, that will ensure that your selection is the best possible choice for your home or business.

Engineered Timber Floors

Engineered Timber Flooring offers the look of a solid timber floor, but has a pre-finished, hard wearing urethane surface. Without the need for on-site sanding and polyurethane application, this means that your new floor can be installed quickly and efficiently with minimal disruption in your home. This is a big advantage for an existing home or pre-finished engineered timber flooring is equally suitable for new homes. There are many choices of engineered timber floors on the market, The Flooring Centre have an extensive selection from quality European manufacturers including Karelia from Finland, Woodworks from Jacobsen Creative Surfaces and many others from all corners of the globe. These quality manufacturers have precision engineered timber floors with patented locking systems that ensure the joints remain firm and stable. They offer comprehensive guarantees covering construction and wear. Engineered timber flooring can be installed by either "floating floor" method or "direct stick" method. The direct stick method is more costly, but has the advantage of being quieter underfoot.
